Heavy-Duty "PSB" Plastic Belt Conveyor

Hytrol is always ready to tackle any material handling challenge, no matter what size.  Here, rolls of raw material used in the manufacture of paper towels are moved on special slider-pan design belt conveyors.  The rolls measure 102 in. diameter x 102 in. tall and weigh in at 5000 lbs. The conveyors are mounted side by side on one leg of an upender.  A “V” deck will be mounted on the other leg of the upender.  An AGV will deliver the rolls to the “V” deck of the upender with the core of the roll parallel to the floor.  The upender will stand up and the roll will rest on the first pair of conveyors (with the core perpendicular to the floor) and begin the accumulation process.  At the end of the accumulation line, the rolls are picked up by a squeeze clamp fork truck.

SPECIFICATIONS– 10 ga. slider pan conveyors with 4 ga. side channels.  Intralox #1400 flush edge flat top belt.  2-1/2 in. square bore shafts.  Center bearing support design.  Lexan front plate on the chain guard.  2 HP energy efficient motor.  Conveying speed is 30 FPM.

Conveyor of the Month

The Model TH, Trash Belt Conveyor, has been specifically designed to handle empty cardboard boxes and paper trash.  In picking operations, warehouses, factories, etc. where workers must discard paper boxes and other paper waste, the Model TH can be installed to quickly carry it away to hoppers, dumpsters, or trash compactors.  This leaves the worker’s area free from clutter.

Optional equipment includes other constant or variable speeds, an end drive, manual underside take-up, noseover, poly-tier supports, ceiling hangers, side guards, and a two-pulley hitch (for transition of product from horizontal to incline).

  • 7 Belt Widths
  • Center Drive
  • Adjustable Floor Supports
  • Integral Side Guards
  • Underside Bed Cover Full Length

Application Information

The Model 25-CREZD can be supplied with the optional soft start/soft stop feature.  In this example, soft start/soft stop is applied in zone 2 to allow the pallet in that zone to travel past the EZLogic™ sensor until contact is made with the stopped pallet in zone 1.  When the pallet in zone 1 is accumulated and a pallet is sensed in zone 2, the soft start/stop will begin decelerating zone 2.  The deceleration time may be adjusted to stop the pallet immediately behind the pallet in zone 1.  This is to facilitate removal of both pallets at one time by a double-wide fork lift.

EZLogic’s zone-on delay timer feature may be set to 15, 30, or 45 seconds in zones 1 and 2 to prevent the accumulated pallet in zone 3 from advancing forward until the removed pallets are clear of the conveyor.
