Hytrol Special:

Never let the Hytrol engineering teams hear you say "It can’t be done!" Their innovative attitude has more than once caused skeptics to eat their words! There was some doubt whether the EZLogic® feature could be incorporated into the Hytrol Model RB.

But again, Hytrol’s engineering team put their thinking caps on and the result was this special Model "RBEZ." The EZLogic® modules have been attached to provide accumulation of various size plastic pallets weighing up to 3000 lbs. The EZLogic® modules control the individual drives for each zone.

The unit features a shaft mounted maintenance free gearbox and special motors using 24 v. relays built into the cup of the conduit box. The motors are turned on and off by signals from the EZLogic® modules. Elevation is 12 in. top of belt.

Model LRC

Hytrol’s Conveyor of the Month is the Model LRC live roller curve conveyor. In the Hytrol inventory for more than forty years, the Model LRC continues to be a popular conveyor for use in applications where a turn in the conveyor line is necessary.

Available in two roller sizes, 138-LRC (light-duty) and 190-LRC (medium-duty) these units provide a positive drive for negotiating 90°, 60°, 45°, and 30° turns. Tapered rollers are available in some sizes which maintains proper package orientation in the curve.

The Model 138-LRC is available in 4 bed widths from 12 in. to 24 in.. The Model 190-LRC can be supplied in 12 widths ranging from 16 in. to 42 in.

Shown here in a system application, the Model 190-LRC can also be slave driven from other Hytrol live roller units.

Determining the curve "BR" needed for a certain size package

Package sizes on straight line conveyors are usually flexible, as long as the box fits between the rails or guards. When the package enters a curve, however, the engineering rules become more rigid. A two inch (2") clearance should be the MINIMUM distance between the corners of the box and the side of the conveyor rail. The following formula is a guide for determining the size conveyor "BR" (Between Rail Width) needed for a given box size. It should be remembered that this is only a guide and if there are any concerns the product should be tested first.

*Between Rails
**Inside Radius

SAMPLE PROBLEM:
The box size is: 26" wide x 33" long
The curve in question has a 48" inside radius

Using the formula above:

Note: For CHAIN ROLLER CURVES and POWER BELT CURVES add chain guard thickness to above.

NOTE: Use the INSIDE RADIUS in your Hytrol General Catalog for each specific conveyor. Also, a more thorough guide to package sizes for powered and gravity roller curves can be found in the Hytrol Technical Manual. If you have questions about the formula or need help determining if a package will fit on a certain size curve, your Hytrol distributor or Hytrol engineering should be contacted.
