pusher SOLUTION: Cardboard boxes make up a large number of the items that are moved on conveyors, therefore, it is only natural that there be methods devised to close the ends of boxes while the box is being moved on the conveyor. In this case, a box containing tool boxes is moved with the flaps down. A clamp is used to move the box over two special roller stops. As the roller stop is raised and the clamp on the conveyor moves the box forward, the flap flips down and under the box. When the motion is reversed, the other flap is closed under the box by the second roller stop. This results in a flat closed box, providing easier handling. |

Model HBC
The Model HBC is a belt curve conveyor designed for high speed applications. It is available in 20 conveying surfaces ranging from 10 in. to 48 in. The Model HBC provides a positive flow of products by means of a belt driven by tapered pulleys. The conveyor is very versatile in that it can transport a wide variety of products. The curve is available in 90,°45°, and 180° turn configurations. The conveyor is provided with an endless, finger spliced PVC belt with guide profile. The bed is 7-1/2 in. deep (inside) and 10-1/2 in. deep (outside). Conveyor and all painted parts are powder painted. The drive is mounted underneath the bed section. Belt speed is available up to 250 FPM. The Model HBC can handle a wide variety of products and sizes. The unit pictured in the bottom picture is installed at Hytrol in the Receiving and Stores area. |

| Choosing
the best sensing method for the 190 ABEZ
The EZLogic® Accumulation System offers two basic sensing methods: Retro-reflective and diffuse type. Each of these methods requires its own version of the EZLogic® accumulation module. The two modules, combined with various mounting options, provide several product-sensing options. The best sensing option to use is determined by the type of product to be conveyed and other application-specific parameters, such as access for side loading/unloading. When choosing the best sensing method and mounting configuration for EZLogic® modules on the 190 ABEZ, use the following guidelines: • Retro-reflective sensing is generally more reliable than diffuse sensing. • Very shiny objects may not be sensed properly in certain applications. • Use the "retro-reflective with standard reflector mounting" configuration whenever possible. • Objects with "open" construction, such as baskets, are not recommended for EZLogic® conveyors. • The "underside diffuse" configuration is not recommended when there is a wide range of carton sizes. • Small cartons may not be sensed on conveyors equipped with the "underside diffuse" configuration.
